Gary Johnson is the founder of RARE Work Method™ and a Licensed Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, Certified Nutrition Coach, Somatic Intelligence Practitioner, wellness strategist and coach.
His work integrates neuromuscular bodywork, somatic intelligence, nervous system awareness, movement, structure, nutrition, coaching, human performance and whole-person development into a unified approach to understanding the human system.
His professional background includes clinical bodywork, osteopathic-informed assessment, somatic practices, sound and frequency-based approaches, meridian-integrated bodywork and experience observing human behavior and nervous system responses in high-stress environments.
RARE Work Method™ grew from a simple observation:
People were being treated in pieces, while their lives were operating as a whole system.
Gary saw that physical tension, nervous system states, emotions, behavior, environment, relationships, nutrition and work could influence one another.
Somatic intelligence became an important bridge—learning to recognize the body's signals, understand what those signals may be communicating and use that awareness as part of meaningful change.
The question became:
What if the body wasn't simply something to fix, but something to learn from?
That question became the foundation for RARE.
RARE exists to bridge the gaps between bodywork, coaching and wellness.
Traditional approaches can focus on one piece of the person: the muscle, the mindset, the behavior, the lifestyle or the symptom.
RARE looks at the relationships between those pieces.
Through RARE Body Intelligence™, Somatic Intelligence, the RARE Cycle™, P.I.E.™ and measurable baseline awareness, the method creates a framework for understanding the person as an interconnected system.
The philosophy is simple:
Stop treating the parts. Learn the system.
I believe the body communicates.
Tension, movement, breath, posture, energy, sensation and behavior can provide valuable information about how a person is experiencing and responding to life.
I believe somatic intelligence is the ability to develop greater awareness of that communication—not simply thinking about the body, but learning to recognize and work with what the body is telling you.
I believe meaningful change requires more than insight.
It requires awareness, regulation, action, alignment and repetition.
I believe wellness should be practical, measurable when appropriate, individualized and connected to real life.
And I believe there is no single formula for becoming your best self.
The goal is not to become someone else.
The goal is to better understand the system you are operating—and learn how to work with it.
RARE Work Method™ is being developed as more than a massage practice, coaching program or wellness brand.
It is an evolving ecosystem built around body intelligence, somatic intelligence, nervous system awareness, human performance and whole-person development.
The vision includes bodywork, coaching, education, corporate wellness, workplace vitality, speaking, digital tools, assessments, community and intellectual property.
At the center is a practical framework that helps individuals and organizations better understand the interconnected systems influencing how people live, work, perform, recover and grow.
RARE is the method.
The body provides information.
Awareness creates the opportunity for change.
The work is learning how to align the system.
